Inspiration/Education

Peter attributes his skills to his father, who taught him the art of voice, narration and script interpretation. “Rather than focusing on the sound of my voice, Dad taught me to visualize what I was reading, as if I were watching a movie. And diction and speech were drilled into me from an early age. Dad’s amazing career has been an inspiration.” 
Peter Thomas (Sr.) is the voice of the long running series ‘Forensic Files’ on truTV.

Skills

Peter Thomas, Jr. also worked as a freelance writer. He wrote, narrated and directed the series “Folk Tales Of The World” for WNET. During the early part of his career, he worked extensively for McGraw Hill, writing scripts and educational material for young children and teenagers. “Being a writer has been a valuable skill for my voiceover work, helping me to interpret and understand the scripts and what the copywriters want to accomplish.”

‘Allies’

Peter shares his recording studio with his life partner Maike Wessel and his friend John Conway – both accomplished voiceover talents.
“Getting valuable feedback and support from two professionals and being able to engineer for each other, is an ideal work situation. We call it the ‘Sedona Voiceover Alliance’. Thanks to the internet and our ISDN connection, we work with clients all over the world.”
